1. Eligibility & Authority
By submitting a listing, you represent and warrant that you are the owner or a legally authorized representative of the business being listed. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update such information promptly should it change. Howdy Alberta reserves the right to verify your business status or remove listings that appear to be fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized.
2. Content Standards & License
You are solely responsible for all content you upload to the Platform, including text, images, logos, and contact details. You agree not to submit material that is deceptive, infringing on third-party intellectual property, or offensive.
• License Grant: By submitting content, you grant Mira Gratia Consulting Ltd. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and distribute your listing content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
3. Public Disclosure & Search Engines
You acknowledge that business listings are public. Once published, your business information can be indexed by third-party search engines. We do not control how these external engines cache, display, or update your data once it has been modified or removed from our Platform.
4. Local Spotlights (Paid Visibility)
• Service Definition: A Local Spotlight is a paid advertising service designed to provide your business with priority placement within search results and category pages.
• No Endorsement: A Local Spotlight is an advertisement and does not constitute a legal endorsement, formal verification of credentials, or a guarantee of service quality by Howdy Alberta.
• No Performance Guarantees: While we provide the tools to increase your brand’s reach within the Alberta community, we do not guarantee specific traffic levels, lead volume, or financial results.
5. Reviews & User-Generated Content
Howdy Alberta provides a venue for user-generated reviews and ratings to help neighbors share their experiences.
• We do not verify the accuracy of user reviews and are not responsible for their content.
• To maintain the integrity of the Platform, we do not remove reviews simply because they are negative.
• We reserve the right to remove reviews only if they are proven to be fraudulent, contain hate speech, or violate our community standards.
6. Suspension & Removal
We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any listing—whether paid or free—that we believe violates our policies, receives repeated consumer complaints, or poses a risk to the Platform’s reputation. Removal for a violation of these terms does not entitle the Listing Owner to a refund of any fees paid.
7. Limitation of Responsibility
Howdy Alberta (operated by Mira Gratia Consulting Ltd.) is a neutral directory. We are not a party to any agreements, contracts, or disputes made between you and your customers. We are not liable for any losses, damages, or claims arising from your interactions with users found through the Platform.
8. Governing Law
These Listing Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
